Green Video.
This 38-year old-video which shows a lion being reunited with his two childhood owners has already been seen by millions on video sites like YouTube. And now it has come to Green Blog (Yes, we are suckers for cute movies).
The lion named Christian was bought from an exotic animals department in Harrods in 1969 by the two Australians John Rendall and Anthony Bourke for 250 guineas. They took him home and raised him in their flat.

We travel to Oahu for our second episode where we attend the 2008 Kokua Festival. In supporting an amazing cause, our host Maria has the opportunity to talk with various green vendors and listens to some great musicians.
The Kokua Festival is a show that raises money and awareness for The Kokua Foundation. The foundation supports environmental education in the schools and communities of Hawai’i. This is the fifth annual festival and it brings with it five incredible musicians and sixty green vendors and non-profits. We take you around the festival to showcase this zero waste concert and show you organizations that you can volunteer with when visiting Hawaii.

Global Warming.
By now I guess everyone has seen Al Gore’s movie and slide show, or at least understands the severity of climate change.
Now Al Gore has updated his slide show and “presents evidence that the pace of climate change may be even worse than scientists were recently predicting, and challenges us to act with a sense of “generational mission” — the kind of feeling that brought forth the civil rights movement — to set it right.”
You can see his presentation of the new slide show over at TED (or after the jump). The video is 27 minutes long but worth every second of your time.

Business & Politics.

Yesterday Al Gore launched the We Campaign. It’s a $300 million 3-year effort “to mobilize Americans on climate change.”
The campaign will focus on sending out its message using mainly TV and print ads. People will be urged to go to the We Campaign website and sign the petition for a global treaty on climate change, urge the press to ask questions about climate change and learn more about global warming, the solutions and how they can personally minimize their environmental impact.
The ads will show, by featuring people like Nancy Pelosi and Newt Gingrich, Pat Robertson and Al Sharpton, that both conservatives and liberals can rally around the climate crisis (You can see the very first advertisement that will be aired on TV after the jump).

At the car-fetishes altar of happiness, the NY International Auto Show at the Javits Center, this year experienced a rather special protest from the people behind StreetFilms.
Thousands of people flocked to the NY International Auto Show at the Javits Center on Saturday. In the midst of it all, Lady Liberty ended her 100 year “spectacularly combustible love affair” with the automobile. Lady Liberty said, “Frankly, this relationship has just gotten to be much more work than it’s worth. My health, liberty and freedom have suffered greatly, and now I hope that my new relationships will finally give me security and happiness.” Then Reverend Billy officiated her marriage to “Mr. Transit” and the Stop Shopping Gospel Choir sang in celebration.

I remember when I did Easter eggs like these when I was smaller. You know, back then when you actually cared to celebrate Easter.
But no matter what your personal opinion about Easter is, this method will make your eggs look fabulous. Check out the video on how to make naturally dyed Easter eggs using vegetables and spices.

Renewable Energy.
The video below shows a windmill in Hornslet, near Århus in Denmark, being ripped apart by… wind. Oh the irony. But it does show the power of renewable energy, and in this case wind power.

Missy Higgins is a popular musician in Australia. If you watched the Live Earth (7.7.07) events last year you could see her perform in Australia.
Now she is trying to make her way to the US music scene in her “green” US tour. She will promote her new album, “On A Clear Night” (which is being released today), and show her “commitment and interest in the environment” by touring in a Prius and stopping at various forward thinking green places along the way.
A series of videos will document Missy’s “green” tour in the USA. After the jump you can watch a trailer for the videos.

Lucas Oleniuk, photographer at the Star, has made a video to illustrate climate change from still-images “taken in our own back yard.”
Twenty days in Ontario resulted in twenty thousand still images that make up this beautiful piece called “Airsick: an industrial devolution“.
“Airsick: An Industrial Devolution” is more than just another video. It is a statement, a warning, a wake-up call. And it dovetails perfectly with the Star’s commitment to Earth Hour, a global action slated for March 29 - when people in cities around the world will turn out their lights for an hour to take a stand against climate change. (The Earth Hour organization calls our changing weather patterns “the greatest threat our planet has ever faced.”)
Watch “Airsick: an industrial devolution“, and read more about it over at the Star.
